issue w/ hiding project thumbnails from Start page

Greetings,

I'm having an issue with hiding project thumbnails from my Start page. Using Mondrian. This issue seems to be different from other ones people have posted about.

The confusing part is that only about half of the project thumbnails are appearing on the Start page. However, I don't see any difference between the settings of these & the ones that are not appearing.

Things I have tried that did not fix this:

1. Created a landing page and included a style tag to hide extraneous elements. The thumbnails still appear below.

2. Went into display options & "Hid thumbnails below Projects and Pages"

3. Followed everything from this discussion: http://support.cargocollective.com/discussion/962/hide-specific-thumbnails-using-tagss/p1

(This was not always a problem, but only recently began appearing. I have a tag navigation menu in place, and I still want the thumbnails to appear below when I navigate to the individual pages)
